One of the biggest steppe lakes in Europe and Austrias biggest lake the Neusiedlersee, dried out more than it had since decades in 2022. It is a big hotspot of tourists and water sports enthusiasts and on the other hand a big nature reserve. This leads to different interests regarding the handling of water supply.
